American Ballet Theater Summer Program
February 2011
Kylie Brown and Kaleb Reilly have both been accepted to the
American Ballet Theater's Summer Program for 2011. Kylie will be attending
their program in California. Kaleb was also the recipient of a scholarship
to the program here is Detroit at Wayne State University. Congratulations to you both!

MSDC Student Accepted to Interlochen Arts Academy

Samantha Stephens has been accepted to the Interlochen Arts Academy

Cecchetti Ballet Summer Program Scholarships

Congratulations to Alex Hopp as she was accepted to the
American Ballet Theater's Summer School program here in Detroit.
The event takes place this summer at Wayne State University and the Detroit Opera House.

MSDC Student gets Cast in Upcoming NYC Movie
October 2009
MSDC Alumni, Janelle Jonna was cast as a specialty dancer in the
Sex and The City 2 movie due out in May of 2010! She spent three exciting days
on set with the 4 leading ladies (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Catrell,
Cynthia Nixon & Kristin Davis) and 14 other dancers in New York City.
Janelle said, "It was a lot of work and long hours but a fantastic experience
working with everyone! The costumes, set and everything were amazing!"
Way to go, Janelle, and what an item for your resume!
Look for Janelle in the movie - she is the dancer in purple.

MSDC Alumni JANELLE JONNA has been accepted to the :pushing progress
contemporary training program in New York City. Only a handful of dancers were accepted
to participate in this 8 month intense program starting in Sept. 2009.

Steven Edgar Ross (MSDC Alumni 2006) lands the lead role in the musical Falsettos at Oakland University.
Steven is a musical theatre major at Oakland University. Congratulations, Steve!

MSDC Student, Chris Hendricks, to be featured on MTV!
March 2008
For those of you who missed the MTV camera crew at the dance studio, here is the scoop! Chris Hendricks, one of our students, was selected to be featured in an MTV episode of MADE! Although he is quite an artist he was to "made" into a wrestler over a 6 week period. This episode is the Season 8 Finale and will air on:
MTV, Saturday, March 8, 2008 12 noon. Be sure to check it out!

MSDC Dancers Selected for NYC Invitation Only Workshop
& Rockette Summer Intensive
May 2007
Janelle Jonna was selected as one of 50 dancers to particpate in an invitation only workshop this summer with Brian Friedman from the show "So You Think You Can Dance." Brian saw thousands of dancers across the nation this past year and was choosing dancers to work with him for 6 days in New York City. This is a huge honor to selected for such an event and to work with someone of his caliber. Also, Janelle Jonna and MSDC Company Alumni, Paige Makoski were selected for the Rockette Summer Intensive in New York City in July of 2007 and both made advanced placement for the workshop. We hope to see both you on stage with Radio City one day!
